What Data Is in Peer+ & When It’s Updated

Peer+ uses the most up‑to‑date datasets available from each source, but release schedules vary by provider. Because many sources have built-in reporting and validation timelines, there is often a delay between real-world activity and when data becomes available.

Below is a breakdown of the current data in Peer+ and when updates are expected:

Census Data (ACS)

We use American Community Survey (ACS) data sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau.

  • Current data: December 2024
  • Next expected update: Spring 2027
  • Please note: ACS releases typically lag by about a year

HMDA Data

HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) data reflects reported mortgage activity submitted by financial institutions.

  • Current data: December 2025
  • Typical release cadence:
    • Initial release in the spring
    • Additional updates in the summer to capture corrections and refiled data

Branch Data

Branch data in Peer+ includes branch locations and deposit data reported by banks.
    • Current data: Updated annually using Q2 reporting data
    • Typical release cadence: Annual, based on when institutions report branch addresses and branch- level deposits
    • Next expected update: Q2 Branch Data is typically loaded each year in October

Peer+ Pointer!

  • Banks report branch-level deposit data as part of their yearly Q2 reporting
  • Credit unions do not report branch-level deposit data
Credit unions do not report branch-level deposit data. In Peer+, these values are estimated by evenly distributing total deposits across branches.

What To Keep In Mind

  • Data availability depends on when source organizations publish and validate their datasets.
  • Most of these datasets are updated annually, while others follow a different release schedule.
  • It is normal for the most recent data to reflect prior-year activity due to reporting timelines.
