How to Build a Merger Scenario

Use Peer Suite’s Merger Builder to combine two credit unions and create a hypothetical merged credit union. The Merger Builder blends NCUA call report data from both credit unions so you can see how key financial and operational metrics may look after a merger.

Step One

From the top navigation, select Create, then choose Create Merger to open the Merger Builder.

Step Two

Search for the two credit unions you want to include in your merger.
Enter a name for your merged credit union and select Save.

Your merged credit union is now created. It will appear in your comparison set and is ready for analysis.

Set Up Your Merger for Analysis

To ensure accurate and meaningful insights, you will need to adjust your comparison set.

Step One: Set the mergered institution as your Primary

In your comparison set, drag and drop the merged credit union into the first position. This sets it as your Primary, which Peer Suite uses as the anchor for analysis.

Step Two: Add the individual institutions

Add the two individual credit unions to your comparison set. Viewing the merged credit union alongside its components helps you understand where performance improves, where it changes, and where risks may emerge.

This side-by-side view is especially helpful when explaining merger impacts to senior management or a board, since it clearly shows what each credit union contributes to the combined organization. If you need a refresher on comparison sets, see this  guide.
