What You Can Do With Peer Notes

    • Comment on historical events that affect data trends
    • Leave reminders about how to interpret or navigate specific displays
    • Add personal analysis or talking points for board presentations or internal discussions

Peer Notes is available exclusively in Peer Suite Premium and Plus. Contact your account manager to add this functionality to your subscription.

How To Add & Manage Notes

Peer Notes are available on all built-in and custom displays, except for select preformatted displays like the Credit Union Online Profile.

Adding A Note

  1. Click the Notes icon below your selected display.
  2. Enter your text in the Notes field.

  1. Save, Discard Updates, or Delete:
    • Click the check mark to save.
    • Click the X to discard updates made to an existing note. This option will retain your original timestamp.
    • Click the trash can icon to delete the note entirely, including the timestamp.

About Timestamps

  • Every Peer Note is automatically timestamped to show:
    • The date and time the note was saved or last updated
    • The comparison set applied to the display at that time
  • If you update a note, the timestamp updates as well, so it always reflects the most recent version.
  • When you export notes, the timestamp is included automatically, creating a built-in audit trail of your insights and activity.

Use Cases For Peer Notes

Peer Notes are a valuable tool for documenting analysis, preparing for discussions, and maintaining a clear record of your decision-making process. Here are a few practical ways to put them to use at your institution:

Track Key Data Trends

Stay close to the story behind the numbers by capturing what’s changing and why.

  • Record shifts in key data sets such as, ROA, loan growth, or delinquency rates
  • Note external events that may have influenced performance, such as rate hikes, economic slowdowns, or regulatory updates.

Improve Data Interpretation

Keep a record of how you’re approaching your analysis to bring clarity and consistency to future reviews.

  • Capture why a particular peer group was chosen- whether it's based on geography, asset size, product mix, or strategic goals.
  • Add notes about your internal benchmarks or expectations. For example, what ROA level do you consider strong? What delinquency rate raises a red flag?
  • If you're using Peer Suite’s Projections tool, use Peer Notes to highlight assumptions, goals, or early takeaways to build a bridge between planning and performance.

Prepare for Presentations & Reports

Peer Notes can help to keep your thoughts organized and presentation-ready, right where your analysis happens.

  • Draft key talking points for board meetings, strategic planning sessions, or performance reviews.
  • Add your own insights to complement Peer Suite’s built-in ratio definitions and performance analysis.

  • Flag metrics that may require action, discussion, or follow-up review.

Maintain an Audit Trail

Track how your thinking evolves and what decisions were made along the way.

  • Log actions taken based on your analysis, such as changes to lending strategy or shifts in investment focus.
  • Build a timeline of your interpretations and decisions for future reference, staff handoffs, or recurring reviews.

Exporting & Sharing Notes

Exporting Notes

  • You can export notes to:
    • PowerPoint (PPT)
    • PowerPoint Image (PPT Image)
  • Peer Notes will automatically imports to the "Notes" section of each PowerPoint slide along with the information generated from the timestamp.

Peer Pointer!

For presentation-ready slides, pair your Peer Notes with Callahan’s Analysis Text, a built-in layer of insight and explanation.

Sharing Displays With Notes

Want to share your insights with a teammate? Use Peer Suite’s Share feature to send a display with your notes included.

Peer Pointer!

Notes on a shared display act as a one-time snapshot. If a recipient adds or changes a note, it won’t sync back to your version and any updates you make won’t appear on their shared display.
