Primary Institutions

Your designated primary is the institution, peer group, merger, or market you’ll be comparing against other institutions and groups’ performance within Peer Suite.

Your primary institution can be identified as the dark blue pill in the first position of your comparison set as seen above. This is automatically set to your credit union upon your first log-in to Peer Suite. All charts and graphs will reflect data for this institution.

It’s important to be able to identify your primary institution as some displays only examine data for a single institution, whether that is a credit union, bank, merger, or peer group. For example, a loan composition pie chart can show you data for only one institution at a time. If you wish to analyze another institution or group, you'll need to change your primary.

You can set another credit union, bank, merger, or peer group as your primary at any time by dragging and dropping the clear 'pill' to replace your current dark blue primary. You can also use this functionality to reorganize the institutions and groups in your comparison set if you would like items within the displays to appear in a different order.

How To Add More Institutions To Your Comparison Set:

  • If the peer group or institution you want is NOT yet in your comparison set, search for it using the comparison search in the top right of your canvas.  Simply start typing the name you are looking for, and the filter will locate matches under each grouping:  credit unions, banks, peer groups, or merger lists.
    • Use the top-level categories to search between credit unions, banks, peer groups, or merger lists
  • Clicking on an institution or group from the comparison search will be add it to your comparison set - then simply drag and drop it onto the first position of your comparison set if you want it to be your primary.

Peer Pointer!

Once you've added an institution or group to your comparison set it will no longer appear in the comparison search.

Temporary Primary Institutions

If you would like to study data for an institution other than your current primary, try using the temporary primary feature in Peer Suite. Single-click on the pill of the institution or comparison group you’d like to examine more closely, its color will change to dark blue, and primary-only displays will now reflect data for that institution. This creates a temporary primary. As the name implies, this change is temporary. Next time you access Peer Suite the leftmost institution in your comparison set will revert to your primary.

If you like to conduct analysis focusing on a variety of institutions with the same comparison set or using non-comparative displays, Peer Suite's Automatic Primary could be just the solution for you!
